Some random images for Friday evening.
Our first gate – up behind the Kenwood Dairies and looking across to the meadows.
And then back across the heath later in the afternoon – the entrance into the ‘Athlone House garden’, a little section of the garden of Athlone House (the huge red brick Victorian mansion four doors down from me) which appears to have been ‘given’ to the heath.
Down in the woods, how about these for roots?
And what on earth is going on with this tree? The bark on the base is totally different from the bark above the ‘break’. How did that happen?
And then a little bird song. At this time of year all we seem to hear in the woods are parakeets and crows so I was pleased to catch this short burst of song down by the boating pond – all too soon drowned out by walkers and gardeners.
