After the carefully tended herbaceous borders in the kitchen garden last night, I thought maybe we should have some wild flowers.
In fact, the heath is not that rich in wild flowers – or if it is, I have totally failed to find them. Maybe they flourish in the wilder parts of the heath from which we are (quite rightly) banned or maybe it is the incredibly dry spring. But apart from the bluebells a month ago, some comfrey down by the swans’ pond, and a clutch of cowslips on the meadow near Kenwood, the images below are almost all that I have noted. Since I don’t know what they are – apart from the daisies, buttercups and the rather disappointing irises, I shall just post without comment…..
