After all the dramatic events of the last 24 hours in Washington – not to mention ever rising COVID figures here in the UK – I thought that what we probably needed was a little peaceful contemplation. So – the Boating Pond (always the most photogenic!) in yesterday’s late afternoon sun.
Down at the bottom end a small boy heads resolutely on with his stick.
While the sun sinks over the hill…
But over on the Highgate side the trees were still catching those amazing gold rays.
And for some very slow watching – across from the Boating pond a cormorant dries his wings. He is not that easy to see as he was unfortunately standing in the reflection from the trees – but then a pair of ducks sail through to enliven matters a touch.
