Last seen Arwen was still about half the size of Boris and making strenuous efforts to persuade Boris that he wasn’t really a rather portly middled aged ginger but a perky young thing keen to play….
Two months later Boris was still try to look very superior – although, if you watched carefully, you would notice that he always left his tail hanging temptingly – and flicked it whenever it look as though Arwen might lose interest.
But, he was definitely softening and at some point in October was even up for sharing a chair…
And now we are in December and Boris has not only been won over to the idea that a bit of a tussle could be quite good fun….
…but he is even up for starting it all up himself!!
But it is not all about fights. The two of them have become fast friends – unusual for male cats anyhow and even more unusual, I would have thought, when the age difference is so great. But maybe not – maybe it is because Arwen is so much younger that Boris does not see him as a threat and so is prepared to be bullied back into kitten hood!
However, it obviously works and not only do they play a lot but, much of the time they are happy just to hang out – only too often, as you can see, on the stairs making getting up and down with handfuls of coffee quite a challenge!!
