Frodo on food….

On the subject of food….

Frodo, our Senior Cat (see introductory ‘cat’ page…) is very specific in his food requirements. He likes Royal Canine (Feline) Dental Food – large crunchy, and obviously very succulent, nobbly lumps which come , on prescription, in a very expensive bag from the vet.

(The rationale, if you need to know, is that cats are very lazy eaters and if they do not have to chew or crunch the food – as they would have to if it was a mouse or a bird – they will just swallow it. This can result in plaque on their teeth leading to gum disease and goodness knows what horrors! The answer, it seems, is specially large lumps of super spiffing cat food that even the laziest cat cannot swallow without chewing thereby cleaning their teeth as they chew. It certainly seems to work with ours who now refuse to eat anything else.)

Anyhow….  While Muskin and Boris will eat the food when it is there, but if the bowl is running low will wander off to do something else, Frodo will harrass whoever is around unmercifully until they fill the bowl up again….

As you can see here, he takes  very dim view indeed of the few broken nobbles left in this bowl – you expect a cat to eat that?…..

And so, demands action…….

Keeps a wary eye on the provider until the bowl is filled up….

Fills his face…….

And then sleeps it off…….
