Breakfast?……

07/19/2020 //  by Michelle//  3 Comments

When I moved to Hampstead Lane one of excitements was the thought that, should I feel so inclined, I could walk 8 minutes down the road to the lovely Kenwood café for breakfast. But I arrived in February to discover that the café was closed for refurbishment and, about the time that it was due to reopen, lockdown happened. So how happy was I when I walked past the café garden on Friday evening, to see action!!  Only take away for now, but as from 1st August– breakfast!!

It was a beautiful evening with evening sun slanting across the lawns by the house…

…and the lawns running down from the house to the lake…

… and the meadows to the west of the house.

And, right down at the bottom of this meadow as I was about to head into the woods, I saw a bunny! Although we have loads of birds on the heath and a pretty healthy population of squirrels, we very rarely see rabbits. Indeed the only place I have seen them – and that was only one and about two years ago – was in the Kenwood woods. So this was a bit of a treat – and I am sorry there is so little of him, but better than nothing.

(If you want to see the videos you will need to click onto the blog as the email notification does not include the video.)

The second video is a bit of an oddity – and I would suggest that if your musical sensibilities are delicate, you give it a miss! I heard this good gentleman from outside and woods and – followed the sound. And why not…….

My daily blog now has an Instagram account! WalksonHampsteadHeath – the idea being to widen the circle of people who might enjoy a daily ramble across the heath. Please follow us and pass on the news!!

If you would like to get a notification of each new post, please ‘subscribe’ in the box on the right. It is very easy to ‘unsubscribe’ you if you get bored! You will get an email asking you to confirm your subscription but if it does not appear, check your junk box.

Lovely bunny, and nice to come across a sax player! I can see why he is practicing in the woods…

Look, you got your story, so why the journalist’s downbeat quips.

If nobody followed their dreams because people laugh or snigger, then they would not be happy, just dragged down by grumblers.

Like my novels, my songwriting, my inventions.

That music made your video good.

Be positive, delight in reaching for the stars, admire people who follow their dreams.

There is no need to fit-in with a culture of put-downs.
