Moroccan PS

hats

I was just filing away the Moroccan photos when I came across this, whichI felt I had to share…. The felt man, with a very posh (for Morocco) workshop just outside the walls of Marrakech.  He made these lovely South American style bowler hats, pixie boots, some very smart flat bags and embroidered necklaces – all out of died sheep’s wool that he matted or ‘felted’ together.

No, I didn’t buy a hat – not my style – but I did buy Cressida some Pixie boots and myself a felt bracelet to convert into earrings!

If anyone is so inspired that they want some too, he is called Mohamed Belkhou (Feurtier) – 24 Ensemble Artisanale, Av. Med V, Marrakech. Tel. (212) 666 74 34 58/527 87 76 51.

Oh my goodness, I am afraid I have no recollection! It was nearly ten years ago. But I am sure they were not astronomical – and anyhow, totally worth it! I hope you enjoy the trip.
