Early morning sun

01/22/2021 //  by Michelle//  2 Comments

I am not good at catching the early morning sun. It is not that I get up late – I am an early riser. But long habit draws me first to my desk and then, before I know it, it is 2pm and I am catching the late afternoon instead of the early morning sun. So I was glad to break the habit today. And here I am, walking along the Kenwood House terrace at about nine o’clock this morning. So, actually not that early…

Beyond Henry Moore, there was a fine gap between the trees.

Further down, a bench sat invitingly in the sun….

And just before I turned into the woods, I found the ducks heading busily across the lake with the house bleached out in the distance.

On the other side of the woods, on the hill overlooking the ponds, a bird was in full throat somewhere in the branches silhouetted against the sky. Sadly, he saw me coming and stopped – but the branches were rather beautiful.
