Kenwood Kitchen Garden

Alas, for those of us addicted to 19th century walled kitchen gardens, Kenwood’s kitchen garden is no longer a kitchen garden – but it is a totally charming oasis. Not that peaceful because it is so close to the road, but a joy for herbaceous border lovers! Above is the view through the entrance gates – and this is the wider view of one of the beds.

And these are some close ups……

 

And even more close up and personal with that cardoon.

When I was there, no less than three different artists were sitting quietly recording its beauty…

…while in the massive lavender bed the bees were extremely busy…

and on the way out the orange blossom was in full bloom.
