Nipping in between the continuing flood of awards related emails and the repeated torrential downpours, I only managed a quick half hour on the heath today. But I was staggered how quickly the rain had converted the rock hard clay paths of Monday into the quagmires of March!

The skies were lowering so I moved fast but did catch this rather fine dead tree, stark against the clouds.

A watery sun was shining on the stock pond as I peered through this ivy window…

Back up the hill the sun was shining brightly on this merry bank of cow parsley.

But by the time I made it to the front door five minutes later, torrents of rain were once again pouring down the hill.

I know what you mean! Narrowly avoided a bum slide on my walk yesterday. Love that tree. It actually looks like it has birds perched on it, wings beating
