Swans in flight

01/17/2021 //  by Michelle//  Leave a Comment

Walking round the bottom of the men’s swimming pond two days ago I saw the pair of swans who are normally to be found on the boating pond setting out purposefully from the bank. But only seconds later they changed their minds and headed equally purposefully back towards me. They were obviously ambivalent about where they actually wanted to go (were they having an argument about it out there on the pond?) and continued to zigzag slowly away from me and towards the swimming area.

I watched them for a couple of minutes and was just about to give up on them when there was an energetic flapping pf wings and they both soared majestically up off the pond and over the bank to boating pond and home.

And here they are a few minutes later, back on the boating pond.
