01/30/2021 //  by Michelle//  Leave a Comment

Fed up with work meetings on Zoom – or looking or a fun break from that home schooling for you and your kids? Join the London Wildlife Trust for their Wetland celebration day on Tuesday.

First up is Ian Crump, Biodiversity Field Officer for Thames Water. He will tell us all about freshwater wildlife habitats – vital sources of supply and habitats for a wide range of species – and how his team manage them. 10–11am. Book here.

Next Walthamstow Wetlands ranger, Pete, will talk about wetlands around the world, the life they support, the ecosystem services they provide and why they are worth protecting and restoring. 12.30– 1.30 Tuesday 2ndFebraury. Book here.

And finally, who could resist this little charmer? Join patch birder, Daniel Whitelegg, to get an inside peek of the reserves seasonal comings and goings. Learn how important the reservoirs are for over 140 species and why they choose to spend their lives here. From the glamourous bearded tit to the ubiquitous but overlooked greylag goose.  3–4pm Tuesday 2nd February. Book here.

Anyone who logged in to some of the talks around the Great North Wood festival in December will know what fun they are  – so do just take that hour off!!
